Guinness 0 Non-Alcoholic Draught

First, can we talk about the word "draught" please? Try as I might, can't see it as it's supposed to sound -- draft -- and it's one of those words that makes me feel like we collectively need to meet up and discuss making certain spellings obsolete.

Anyway...Yes, I drink non-alcoholic beer.

I gave up drinking nearly a year ago but I still miss the flavor and rituals associated with drinking beer, namely hanging out at bars, or sitting around watching a movie with a cold one. Luckily, we live in a day and age when there are way more NA beer options that just O'Douls.

Guinness 0 Non-Alcoholic Draught pretty closely approximates full-gauge Guinness. Obviously, the zero alcohol version has much less body; you can't brew something without alcohol and not have it end up with this unfortunately unavoidable fault. However, what you still get are the nice, sweet, chocolate and vanilla notes, and just a hint of the telltale "smoky" Guinness hops flavor (I mean, just hint...like, you have to sit there, turn off the music, close your eyes, take a sip, hold the beer in your mouth, stay very very still and you can taste it).

What's nice is that they have somehow managed to approximate the creamy, foamy mouthfeel of an actual Guinness, thanks to the foam widget thing they put inside the cans. I have never understood how this simple technology actually works but I'm more than happy to reap the benefits, even if it means drinking more micro-plastics (hey, who's counting at this point?) and causing the cans to be un-recyclable. We wouldn't want SOME consumer product to have no plastic in it, now would we?

Ranked against actual Guinness, there's no way Guinness 0 can come out a winner. No NA beer can vs. its full-strength counterpart; however, ranked against other NA beers (the field of which is larger than you'd think) Guinness 0 truly shines and is worth seeking out.
